Q: How do I know I'm not being overcharged for my wedding?

A: Let's face it- you will spend more on your shoes and flowers than you will on the celebrant on the actual day yet you cannot get married without them and they set the tone for the whole wedding day! So from approx $507 for a NSW Registry weekend wedding with no personal flavour and nothing else included to over $1500 plus for some higher end celebrants who are terrific and charge by the hour (all above board)- you find most will charge somewhere in the middle range eg $600-900 and less for regional centres and country areas outside Sydney. Generally you get what you pay for but do check the inclusions as they can vary considerably! However can you put a price on unforgettable memories, a professional, reliable and warm hearted celebrant who makes everyone feel welcome? I will certainly give 150% and try to do this every time for every bride in every case, but for some brides and grooms its a case of meeting a few celebrants and working out who best suits you!

Q: How do I know what to ask for when researching my marriage celebrant?
A:
Ensure you find out what is included in the price and compare! Many charge extra for hiring their PA and microphones, others charge extra for rehearsals or travel on an hourly basis so check the fine print of what is included or you may think you are getting a cheap wedding but it may break the budget when you add in all the needed extras!

Q: Why do you think you should be my celebrant?

Q: Can you advise me about changing my name after the wedding?

A: Yes, both brides and grooms can change their name to the other's surname after the wedding using the official registration marriage certificate received from the Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages (BDM) after the wedding. However if they wish to create a new legal entity name by combining both surnames or using a hyphen etc, they will need to apply for a Change of Name Certificate from BDM which costs approx. $179 (as at 20/01/17 plus $50 for priority processing). If a bride wants to assume her new husband's surname then ask me about this or there is handy info at http://easynamechange.com/au
